8:00 AM - Esthetic Dentistry: An Update on All Ceramic Restorations
Dr. Doug Barnes, University of Maryland School of Dentistry
This course will provide an insight into techniques for restoring anterior and posterior teeth with all ceramic materials focusing on zirconia and lithium disilicate. Principals of adhesive dentistry will be presented concentrating on the most recent dental materials for use in restoring teeth. Treatment planning and restorative techniques for all ceramic crowns and fixed partial dentures will also be discussed.
9:30 AM - Look Past the Teeth and at the Airway
Dr. John Comisi, Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine
This presentation will discuss the signs and symptoms for Sleep-Related Breathing Disorders, the need for medical and dental collaboration in managing patients with these disorders, and why the ADA House has adopted a policy statement on dentists becoming involved with the treatment of patients with these disorders.
10:45 AM - Eating Disorders: Medical, Dental, and Oral Health Considerations
Dr. Barbara Steinberg, University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine
This presentation will address the psychologic, medical, dental and oral health issues associated with eating disorders as well as dental management considerations. Discussion will lend itself to the negative impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on eating disordered individuals.
