A Case of the Baby Blues

Description

When neonates are born with cyanotic heart disease, time is of the essence. This course will cover those specific cardiac defects which cause cyanosis and require surgical intervention. The discussion will include sonographic markers for those anomalies, as well as the necessary repairs and medical expectations in life after surgery. (Approved for 1 SDMS CME Credit)

Sweatman, RDCS, RCS, RVS, RT (Pediatric and Fetal Cardiac Sonographer @University of North Carolina Children’s Hospital) Jonathan P. Sweatman, RDCS, RCS, RVS, RT began his medical career as a Radiologic/CT Technologist. His interest in Ultrasound led him to further his education and steered him toward his first professional sonography position in adult cardiology at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, New Hampshire. Always looking for new challenges, Jonathan joined a pediatric cardiology team at a children’s hospital, part of the Ochsner Health System, which brought him closer to his New Orleans roots. Eventually, his expertise led him to his present position in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where he currently works as a Pediatric/Fetal Cardiac Sonographer at the University of North Carolina Children’s Hospital. Although fully immersed in adult, pediatric, and fetal cardiac sonography, Jonathan enjoys spending his spare time on road trips with his wife and 4 year-old son.
