Dr. Alvarez received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine summa cum laude in 2006. She completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at LeadER Animal Specialty Hospital from 2006-2007 and continued on to a residency in small animal internal medicine at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine from 2007-2010. Dr. Alvarez was credentialed as a board certified specialist in internal medicine in 2010 and practiced at a busy multi-specialty animal hospital in Texas for five years before returning to Florida. She has a special interest in minimally invasive diagnostic laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures. Dr. Alvarez enjoys working closely with primary care veterinarians to provide the best care for clients and their pets. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. One of her interests is teaching veterinary continuing education abroad.
