Professor Simon Carney
Professor of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery @Flinders University
Professor Carney is one of Australia’s leading Academic ENT Surgeons. He graduated from Edinburgh University Medical School in 1989 with distinction in Surgery. He trained as a registrar in ENT Surgery in Nottingham and undertook Fellowships in both Head & Neck Surgery and Rhinology in Adelaide and New York. He has a special interest in diseases of the nose and sinuses, sleep surgery and Paediatric ENT and regularly teaches on these topics at surgical courses throughout Australia, Asia and in the UK. He is past President of the Australia and New Zealand Rhinologic Society and has been on the Board of the International Symposium of Infection and Allergy of the Nose, also chairing their Education and Training sub-committee. He has performed over 20,000 surgical procedures and has pioneered several new operative techniques and instrument designs for ENT equipment manufacturers. He is a Consultant for several pharmaceutical and medical technology companies.
Professor Richard Harvey
Professor @UNSW(Conjoint) and Macquarie University (Clinical)
Prof. Harvey currently works as a dedicated rhinologist at Macquarie University and St Vincent’s Hospitals in Sydney. He is the program head of Rhinology & Skull Base Surgery at the Applied Medical Research Center of UNSW and is Professor at both the University of NSW and Macquarie University. After several years of post-training fellowships, including formal fellowships in the USA and UK, Prof. Harvey practices in Sydney, Australia, as one of only a few dedicated rhinologists in the country. He has authored over 300 publications, books, book chapters and completed his PhD in trans-nasal skull base surgery. Prof. Harvey has presented over 800 lectures and talks on sino-nasal disease management. He is the current Editor-in-chief of the Australian Journal of Otolaryngology as well as an associate editor for the Cochrane ENT disorders group currently.
Dr. Kornkiat Snidvongs
Associate Professor @Chulalongkorn University
After obtaining his ENT training from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, Dr Kornkiat Snidvongs obtained a PhD degree and finished his fellowship in Rhinology and Skull Base Surgery in Sydney, Australia. Dr Kornkiat Snidvongs has been involving in research in Rhinology and writing several articles. Most of his works are Rhinosinusitis and Endoscopic sinus surgery. He is currently working at Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. His current position is the Head of Endoscopic Nasal and Sinus Surgery Excellent Center. Additionally, he is one of the editorial board of a journal ‘International Forum of Allergy and Rhinology’ and the Associate Editor of Cochrane collaboration.
