Support groups provide vital opportunities for members of the paralysis community to connect with others who understand what they’re going through, decrease feelings of isolation and loneliness, and find support and information. This webinar will provide an introduction to the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation’s recently launched virtual support groups for people living with paralysis and their family members/caregivers. Presenter Bill Cawley will discuss the who, what, where, when and how of the Reeve Foundation’s support groups and the many reasons why joining a support group can be beneficial to you. A support group facilitator will also share his perspective on group meetings and a member of the Caring for a Family Member Living with Paralysis support group will discuss the impact of attending meetings.
The webinar will include a demonstration of how to register for a support group meeting on Hey Peers!, the online platform used to host the support groups and meetings, as well as ample time for audience questions.
This event is FREE for everyone to attend. Live captioning will be available.
This webinar will be recorded and sent out via email to all registrants, as well as available on the Reeve Foundation YouTube channel.
