Fernando (CEO @Dilmah Tea) Dilmah Founder Merrill J. Fernando named his tea after his sons Dilhan and Malik, both of whom have joined their father in his mission to bring quality back to tea with ethics and integrity. The younger son, Dilhan C. Fernando is the CEO of Dilmah Tea. His efforts have focused on bringing tea to a new generation with innovations like tea gastronomy, t- Lounges and by enhancing knowledge in tea through the Dilmah School of Tea. Dilhan also nurtures his father’s pledge to make business a matter of human service through the work of the MJF Charitable Foundation and Dilmah Conservation. Dilhan currently chairs the Biodiversity Sri Lanka Platform which was pioneered by Dilmah Conservation together with the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature). Dilhan is the Chairman of the United Nations Global Compact in Sri Lanka, a corporate sustainability initiative by the UN. Bernd Uber (Black Hat Chef -Australia ) Bernd’s culinary journey began when he walked into a commercial kitchen 50 years ago. In his span of 50 years in the industry Bernd has worked passionately as a chef de Cuisine in many establishments. He has also owned two very successful restaurants and now teaches commercial cookery at various institutes in Melbourne. Bernd is the recipient of many culinary awards, the most prestigious being the Sidney Taylor Memorial Black Hat Award, issued by the Australian Culinary Federation, Victoria. Only Chefs who have made outstanding contributions to Australian culinary progress and development at the highest trade or professional level receive this honour. Over the past 25 years Bernd has been invited to judge many culinary competitions, including being the international judge for Gulfood, Dubai, Melbourne Culinary Challenge and the Dilmah Real High Tea and Tea Sommelier competitions in collaboration with the Chefs Guild of Sri Lanka and endorsed by the World Association of Chefs Societies Mithun Liyanage (Athlete, Sri Lanka ) A natural born athlete who from the early age of 14 excelled at endurance sport. Mithun began his illustrious career as an athlete by winning the title of Under 19 Athletic Champion, Best Track Event Champion and was awarded the Best Athlete, all at the young age of 17. Having rekindled his passion for health and sport at the age of 26, Mithun focused his energy on Cycling and soon immersed (and excelled) himself in the world of competitive multisports. He has since, proudly represented Sri Lanka in many international sporting arenas. Having taken a backseat in competitive triathlon and cycling, although, he does participate from time-to-time when the occasion arises; Mithun has shifted his focus on coaching and developing future athletes. He co-founded Endurance Lab (pvt) Ltd in 2019 where he has had the opportunity to train athletes looking to represent Sri Lanka in international events
