Long before planes, trains, and automobiles, people traveled through the North American continent on the water. The gateway to and from Europe was along the mighty Saint Lawrence River. In 1534 Algonquin-speaking people met French explorer Jaques Cartier and told him about their home near the place where the river narrows - kébec. At this point Cartier was not even looking to establish a French colony, rather he was trying to find a shortcut to Asia!
Now the majority of Canadians live in the two provinces of Ontario and Quebec, along the shores of the Saint Lawrence, the Ottawa River and lake Ontario. On this virtual tour we will discover the heart of French Canada, Canada’s Capital region and mighty Toronto - the world’s most diverse city.
Patrick is back to lead us through these cities and share Canada with the world.
Attendance is free, but tipping the tour guide is appreciated.
