Craig Rains and Trip Wiggins - members of St. George's History Committee - present "300 years of St. George’s Parish: a Unique Microcosm of American History".
The talk will follow St. George’s from its beginnings in the 1700s at Lt. Governor Alexander’s Germanna community on the western edge of the Virginia Colony to its establishment in Fredericksburg, ending just prior to the Civil War. Included will be the changing of the name of the church as well as the construction of three successive churches built on our present site. You’re invited to experience a few steps along the way in a broad leap of 150 years — half the life of St. George’s parish — in one short evening.
The lecture is offered free of charge with donations gladly accepted. To donate, visit www.StGeorgesEpiscopal.net/giving and select "300th Anniversary" from the Funds Dropdown. Please note that registration is required.
