Remembering the Fallen
Join us on the evening of September 22nd at 8.30pm US EST and the morning of September 23rd at 7am Yangon (Burma), to memorialize those targeted by the Myanmar junta. Two months after their brutal killing, we gather on Zoom to celebrate the lives of renown democracy leader Ko Jimmy and hip-hop star- turned MP, Phyo Zeya Thaw.

MCed by Ma Thinn Thiri, Mizzima News Editor, and Me Me Khant, Executive Director of Students for Free Burma (SFB), the memorial will include reflections from allies worldwide including, but not limited to:

● Derek Mitchell and Scot Marciel, former U.S. Ambassadors to Burma;

● Ambassador Paula Dobriansky, former Under Secretary of State for Global Affairs;

● Naomi Gingold, researcher and journalist;

● Gregory Meeks, Chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and BURMA Act author;

● U Htin Linn Aung, Communications, Information & Technology Minister, National Unity Government (NUG) of Myanmar;

● U Min Ko Naing, 88 Generation Leader;

● U Soe Myint, Editor-in-Chief, Mizzima News
