Building Mental Toughness to Bounce Back from Adversity
As daunting as the terrifying numbers we are bombarded with everyday on COVID cases and deaths, millions more in Malaysia and around the world are struggling with uncertainty. Jobs and livelihoods are at stake and yet we feel isolated and disconnected. Numb. Does work even matter anymore?

Azran shares his personal story of overcoming crippling anger and anxiety from losing his job despite coming up with a logical plan to turnaround his company during a crisis. By working with a coach, he learned to look at the situation from different angles, make sense of his feelings and redirect his anger to positive energy to move on and build new businesses.

He also shares how our mental health and emotional wellbeing are deeply linked to our physical health. As he built up his physical strength and stamina to complete Ironman triathlons, he improved his mental focus and concentration, optimism and social connection muscles. Conversely, when mental health deteriorates, it can lead to long-term physical health implications - to our heart, kidneys and nervous system.

He closes with actionable tips on how to proactively build mental toughness by incorporating daily healthy habits that anyone can start to put into practice.
