This webinar explores the financial analysis and valuation techniques commonly used by Wall Street. The topics covered provide practical application of the standards and methods professional analysts apply on the job.
Case Study Overview:
Our case study examines eBay’s board of director’s decision to spin off PayPal in July 2015 in a deal worth ~$48 billion. The decision has made eBay less competitive. Since the PayPal spinoff, eBay’s stock price has unperformed the technology QQQ ETF, PayPal stock, and its biggest competitor, Amazon. We analyze the board's reasons behind splitting the two businesses. We also explore a potential $63 billion leveraged buyout of eBay by building an LBO model and performing due diligence.
