A New Year is Here: K-12 Parents on the Potential of School

Join The MassINC Polling Group and The Education Trust in Massachusetts on Wednesday, January 11th, 2023 from 5:30 to 7:00 PM, as we kick off the year with a new statewide poll and a panel of Massachusetts K-12 parents!

The MassINC Polling Group’s President Steve Koczela will share insight into Massachusetts parents’ perspectives on their children’s educational experiences this school year. Koczela will present results of a statewide poll of more than 1,400 Massachusetts parents of K-12 students, the seventh in a series sponsored by The Barr Foundation.

A panel discussion moderated by Chanthy Lopes Toro, Assistant Director for Engagement and Communications for Massachusetts at The Education Trust, will follow. The panel will include parents of Massachusetts K-12 students who participated in education focus groups. The parent panel will share reactions to the data and provide insight into their own children’s experiences this school year.

Topics of discussion will include how parents think students are doing academically and emotionally at this point in the school year, school safety, available resources, and how well schools are doing at meeting students’ overall needs.
