The continued rise of Cloud computing across the World has seen it become one of the most dominant technologies and a significant enabler of other emerging technologies. A steep rise in take-up with innovative start-ups and business transformations, was further accelerated with the recent pandemic and the requirement to work differently, resiliently, and compliantly going forward.
There is a huge benefit to Cloud adoption done correctly including competitive advantage, and enhanced security posture, and efficient automation, but as security practitioners, we need to be mindful of some of the considerations, limitations, and risks involved in this journey.
This event looks to bring the Cloud into focus as an area of interest with an introduction to some of the Cloud fundamentals and a discussion around some of the risk and security implications. We will look at some of the Certifications and Certificates available to individuals including the ISACA’s very own Certificate of Cloud Auditing Knowledge (CCAK). There is a wealth of available vendor and non-vendor training opportunities that individuals may have an interest in availing of and these will be examined. We will also provide a reference to some of the major relevant standards associated with Cloud, and discuss the formation of a Chapter-based Cloud Security Working Group and some of its aims.
