ABOUT LOUISE FRANZ
Louise is the founder and creator of Pizzalina, a Neapolitan style pizzeria and wine bar in San Anselmo that captured the hearts and loyal following of her community in 2012.

In addition to earning a Michelin Bib award and numerous other local awards, Pizzalina generously gave back to the community through their weekly “Tithe It Tuesday” program, and provided a training ground for young teens, mentoring them in their first jobs.

Louise spent nearly thirty years working in the front and back of house with Bay Area restaurant titans, Jeremiah Tower, Mark Franz, and Pat Kuleto, and another ten years before that working in corporate and small family style restaurants.

Her first-hand experience opening, managing and living with the day to day operations prepared her to single handedly launch her own concept. Combined with a love of her travels to Italy, Louise became a certified Pizzaiola and spent two years perfecting her naturally fermented dough, apprenticing in local pizzerias and working on a location, menu, wine list and concept. Whether working the woodfired oven, or greeting customers at the front door, every facet of being a restaurateur was a creative reflection of her experience and love of the industry.

With a well prepared exit strategy, Louise Franz created a unique and successful concept that was easily sold in the midst of a pandemic, and successfully carried on by new owners with multiple locations on the way. Last year Louise was able to semi-retire, concentrating on consulting, helping others manage their small restaurants, as well as pursuing her love of travel and music.

Prior to starting Restaurant Realty Company Steve had over 20 years of restaurant experience and was President and Chief Executive officer of Zim’s Restaurants, which was one of the largest privately owned restaurant chains in San Francisco Bay.
