APAP Break/Room Conversations
******The Original Schedule for BREAK/ROOM Conversations Has Changed*****

Crisis often brings clarity and opportunities for innovation, but asking the right questions is part of that process and can forever change how we see ourselves, our world, our relationship and our future. This is the beginning of a new series of intimate conversations across our field with artists, presenters, producers, agents, managers, funders and other cultural workers to reimagine the post-COVID-19 future of the arts.

When we began planning APAP BREAK/ROOM Conversations, it was in response to COVID-19, its deep impacts on our field and the industry pain points it revealed. BREAK/ROOM offers a chance for us to pause, pivot and consider ways we might rebuild and redesign our field, our communities and our relationships to each other.

The crisis ignited by the unjust murders of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Tony McDade, Breonna Taylor and so many others has only sharpened our focus and ignited the urgency of activating our field and our work through the lens of race, equity, diversity and inclusion (REDI). This crisis also affirms that innovations in the field are needed and that the cultural leaders have the mandate for paving the way to a more just and equitable world.
