Most recently, she served as the Executive Director of Sycamore Creek Senior Living, Spectrum Retirement Communities in Pickerington, OH, responsible for all facets of operations of the community. She was previously associated with Friendship Village Columbus, Kendal at Granville and Hillhaven Retirement, where she held regional and community marketing director positions, managing the sales and marketing teams and executing advertising and public relations efforts. Ashley holds a Bachelor of Arts, Political Science, from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. She relocated to White Plains, New York, from central Ohio to join the Broadview Team. She, her husband and two children are enjoying exploring Westchester and surrounding counties! Ashley is an official trained provider through the SAGECare program, a cultural competency training program organized by SAGE. Kelly Jackson (Director of Continuing Education @Purchase College) Kelly Jackson, MS, has been the Director of Continuing Education since 2008 and is responsible for noncredit Professional Certificate Programs, Personal Enrichment Courses, International Institute for Au Pairs and Adult EAL, Online Noncredit Programs and Courses, K-12 Teacher Training, and Youth and Precollege Programs. Kelly’s prior experience includes Director of Community Arts & Education at ArtsWestchester and Director, Pensions at the Mutual Life Insurance of New York (MONY). She served on the panel of “Kids’ College and Programming” (2010 Learning Resources Network (LERN) Annual Conference in Chicago, IL) and delivered a presentation on “Growing Youth Programs” at the 2015 Continuing Education Association of New York (CEANY) Annual Conference in Saratoga Springs, NY. Aviva Taubenfeld (Associate Professor of Literature and Writing Chair, School of Humanities @Purchase College) Aviva Taubenfeld is Director of the School of Humanities and Associate Professor of Literature at Purchase College. She received a PhD in English and Comparative Literature at Columbia University in 2003 and has been on the faculty of Purchase ever since. A scholar of US literature specializing in immigration and ethnicity, Aviva is author of Rough Writing: Ethnic Authorship in Theodore Roosevelt’s America (NYU, 2008) as well as numerous essays on immigrant history, ethnic and diasporic literatures, translingualism, and national and transnational identity. Aviva teaches popular courses at Purchase, including Childhood in US Literature, the Roaring Twenties, and Immigration and Ethnicity in US Literature. She has also taught incarcerated women at the Bedford Hills College Program. In 2013, Aviva was awarded the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. A first generation college graduate, Aviva has experienced both the challenges and joys of academic life.
