With Gadi Ben Dov, Israeli Tour Guide
In these two sessions, we will virtually travel first to Masada, a fortress built by King Herod in the first century BCE, which served as a site against the Romans after the revolt in the year 70 CE. This Desert Fortress tells us a dramatic story, making it one of the best-known and most-visited sites in Israel. In the second session, we will visit modern Israel and the graffiti of Tel Aviv, the first Jewish city in the modern era. We’ll explore visual dialogues on politics, temporary art, and Israeli society, learning about the people behind the art. What motivates them and what are they trying to tell us – and why in the street?
