Diane Chin, the Cobourg Historical Society Program Director is also the Vice-Chair of the Architectural Conservancy of Ontario (ACO) and was the Chair of ACO Cobourg & East Northumberland for many years. On May 25, she will be telling the tale of the founding of the ACO organization and its relationship to Barnum House in Grafton including the history of Barnum House itself. While putting this presentation together Diane came across a mystery yet to be solved about the founding of the Cobourg Branch of ACO. Perhaps one of the attendees can shed light on what happened to one of Cobourg’s oldest buildings and more importantly to the person who supposedly organized this building’s move. Diane will also touch on legislative aspects of Heritage Conservation and the many recent threats that are now upon us. And you thought Covid was our only problem!! Tune in on May 25 to learn about the Conservation of our Built History, Heritage and Landscapes.
