Webinar Speakers: Trevor Lambkin, David Maynard and Simon Fearn
The T. A. Lambkin & A. I. Knight Butterfly Collection is a collection of around 12,000 butterflies and other insect groups compiled by Trevor Lambkin and Ian Knight over the last 50 years. This collection has most generously been donated to the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery in Launceston, Tasmania. Including many hundreds of species, some extremely rare and some that are now extinct, it is an important part of Australia’s national research infrastructure.
Hear from one of the donors, Lepidopterist Trevor Lambkin about building this nationally-significant collection, and from the QVMAG's Senior Curator of Natural Sciences, David Maynard, and Simon Fearn, QVMAG's Museum Collections' Officer, on its research potential and the challenges of housing such a large collection.
