There is a push to examine how we engage our young learners in the classroom. This has led many to discover a need for STEAM learning. Engaging children in the skills and disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering, (Creative) Arts, and Math through an integrated approach can create a joyful teaching and learning experience that fully engages little ones—both inside and outside the classroom. Teachers have the privilege to work with children who are filled with imagination, hope, whimsy, wonder and delight in the world around them. Because of this, teachers have a big responsibility to sustain this sense of enthusiasm. The hands-on ideas in this training for creating nature-based experiences in the classroom will help to inspire young children’s sense of wonder about the natural world around them and incorporate STEM concepts and skills.
