Autism Spectrum Disorder(ASD) is a neurological biogenetic social-language disorder. This population demonstrates areas of need in sensory, communication, behavior, safety, executive functioning, attending and engaging in general curriculum, social, fine motor, and gross motor skills. In this training we will define ASD and with a brief discussion of neurology while discovering areas of the brain associated with language. We will discuss assistive technology that addresses each area of difficulty with this population with an explanation of their functions and uses.
