Little Free Library Unbound - Chapter 8: Authors and their LFLs
Little Free Library Unbound is a digital event series connecting stewards, patrons, supporters, authors, publishers, the Little Free Library organization staff, and our national board via monthly webinars on book-related topics. Attendees will have the opportunity to submit questions for our guest panelists, and our moderator will lead a discussion alongside the Q&A.

Chapter 8

Our eighth chapter of Unbound will feature three amazing authors who are also Little Free Library stewards! Our national board chair, Anita Merina, will moderate Q&A sessions with Karina Yan Glaser, Grace Lin, and Claire Fuller to learn about what they're writing, what they like to include in their LFLs, and more!

Grace Lin
Before Grace Lin was an award-winning and NY Times bestselling author/illustrator of picture books, early readers and middle grade novels, she was the only Asian girl (except for her sisters) going to her elementary school in Upstate NY. That experience, good and bad, has influenced her books—including her Newbery Honor WHERE THE MOUNTAIN MEETS THE MOON, her Geisel Honor LING & TING, her National Book Finalist WHEN THE SEA TURNED TO SILVER and her Caldecott Honor A BIG MOONCAKE FOR LITTLE STAR. But, it also causes Grace to persevere for diversity as an occasional New England Public Radio commentator and when she gave her TEDx talk “The Windows and Mirrors of Your Child’s Bookshelf,” as well as her PBSNewHour video essay “What to do when you realize classic books from your childhood are racist?.” She continued this mission with a hundred episodes of the podcast kidlitwomen* and now hosts two other podcasts: Book Friends Forever and Kids Ask Authors.
Claire Fuller
Claire Fuller was born in Oxfordshire, England. She has written four novels: Our Endless Numbered Days, which won the Desmond Elliott Prize; Swimming Lessons, Bitter Orange, and her most recent, Unsettled Ground, which is a finalist for the Women's Prize for Fiction. She has an MA in Creative and Critical Writing from the University of Winchester and lives in England with her husband.
Karina Yan Glaser
Karina Yan Glaser is the New York Times bestselling author of the Vanderbeeker series. She is a contributing editor for Book Riot and lives in Harlem with her husband, two daughters, and an assortment of rescue animals. One of her proudest achievements is raising two kids who can’t go anywhere without a book. Find her online at www.karinaglaser.com.
