IEN's Student Corporate Engagement Competition puts a new spin on the traditional approach to investment competitions by focusing on the responsibility of investors to directly engage company management on the risks and opportunities they see.
The Competition invites students to not only produce an investment recommendation in a publicly-traded company, but also to include in their recommendation a shareholder engagement strategy for improving the company’s business performance and impact on society.
Last year's Competition led to two participating teams directly engaging with company management and large shareholders to move engagement strategies forward, and in one case, resulted in the student's university endowment exploring how they can more actively engage with their holdings.
This year, student teams from Arizona State University, Dartmouth College Tuck School of Business, University of California Haas School of Business, and University of Chicago are participating. During these final presentations, each team will present to our panel of judges on the potential of their proposed investment and shareholder engagement strategy, and judges will have the opportunity to ask questions in areas including research and due dilligence, embedded ESG analysis, and shareholder engagement strategy.
Join us to learn about the Competition and hear from participating teams as they present their final deliverables! The winner of the Competition will be announced in early May.
