Beer, Batter and Brawling: Pieter Bruegel the Elder

Bruegel painted humanity. His paintings are worlds you can enter, with enough details to keep you entertained for hours. Despite being nearly 500 years old, his works are not old masters out-of-touch with our times. They still speak to us today: his characters party, brawl, flirt, gossip, and kiss, against a backdrop of political turmoil.

This talk will explore the comedy and horror of this pioneering 16th Century Netherlandish master.
