DESCRIPTION: The atrophic maxilla presents significant challenges to periodontists. Severe maxillary atrophy combined with extensive sinus pneumatization often precludes many periodontists from being able to help patients seeking resolution to these crippling dental conditions. Utilization of alternative and remote anchorage sites such as the zygoma affords the opportunity for immediate restoration of such patients with highly effective and biologically sound principles. A thorough knowledge of prosthetic engineering principles, anatomy, and surgical techniques are required to utilize this highly advanced dental implant treatment option. This one-hour live, and interactive webinar will provide a concise overview of the potential for zygomatic implants to help the challenged dental patient. Participants will learn how to apply these techniques safely and effectively in a periodontal practice.
• Examine the indications for zygomatic implants
• Review the anatomy pertinent for zygomatic implants
• Gain the technique for safe placement of zygomatic implants
