LBBC Webinar with MMRA
We are delighted to invite LBBC members to an LBBC webinar on Wednesday 23 September at 11am UK time featuring the Chairman of the Man Made River Authority, Engineer Abdulnaser Bubteina and Salem Elmaiar, MMRA representative in the UK and Honorary LBBC Council Member.

The MMR is the main supplier of water for domestic use to the Libyan citizens along its agricultural & industrial utilisations. Extending over 4000 km of pipelines transport water from massive reservoirs below the Sahara Desert to Libya's most heavily populated coastal communities, including the main cities of Tripoli & Benghazi.

This event will be hosted on Zoom and will last for 1 hour where members will have the opportunity to pose questions to the speakers.

Engineer Abdulnaser Bubteina
Chairman @Man Made River Authority (MMRA)
Engineer Abdulnaser achieved his Masters from the US and shortly after he joined MMRA from its inception as the head of the engineering department. Following the first water to Benghazi, he became the General Manager of Phase 1. Post Feb 2011, Engineer Abdulnaser was in charge of the steering committee and subsequently became the Chairman of the authority.
Salem Elmaiar
MMRA representative in the UK
Following his MBA in 1992, Salem joined KBR. He held various positions culminating in assisting the director of the consulting group. He is currently the representative of MMRA in the UK. Salem's focus is natural resources management & water security in Libya & holds an MPhil from SOAS. He was the National Advisor in charge of the elections for the Libyans in the UK. He is a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society & an Honorary LBBC Council Member.
