Every October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. This time is an opportunity for us to remember the lives of babies lost during pregnancy or in infancy. It is also a time for the community to gather as one to provide comfort and support to these babies’ bereaved parents whose pain and grief are insurmountable.
In conjunction with this, theAsianparent rallies for stillbirth awareness in a month-long campaign to commemorate the first anniversary of our CSR initiative, Project Sidekicks. Through this initiative, we strive towards educating expectant mothers about the factors that can reduce the risk of stillbirth. But more than that, we also aim to normalise the conversations around it to better support grieving parents across Southeast Asia.
To kick-off this month of commemoration, join us on October 12, 2021 at 6PM SGT as Minister of State Sun Xueling gives her keynote speech about the Child Development Co-Savings Act and how this can provide better support for all working parents in Singapore. After her speech, Dr. Tan Eng Loy of E K and E L Women’s Clinic will be sharing with us some advice on postpartum recovery, most especially for parents of stillborn babies.
Let us join our hands together in increasing awareness on stillbirth risks and providing better support for bereaved parents.
See you then!
*As part of our campaign, we made this video which features Hope the Penguin, theAsianparent’s Project Sidekicks mascot.
It's a video about loss and finding support to overcome grief.
