Backcountry Navigation with Caltopo - A Virtual Workshop

Renee Elsdon Jacobs of Caltopo.com will be leading a virtual workshop on backcountry navigation for beginners using the free online mapping tool, Caltopo.com. In this workshop, you will learn the fundamental tools on Caltopo, including how to create routes. We will then discuss in-field navigation using the Caltopo app, Avenza app, or a Garmin device (such as a watch with mapping capabilities). You will get hands-on practice during the workshop and a chance to get any of your questions answered. If you want to practice with these devices during the workshop, please have your cellphone with the Caltopo app installed and/or a cellphone with the Avenza app installed and/or your Garmin gps watch (with a Garmin Connect account set-up and linked to the device).
