In her former career, she was also a rehabilitation teacher of the blind for ten years. Having grown up in small towns and tiny libraries, she has a passion for rural service, and is excited to serve in a new capacity in one of the most rural states in the US, meeting the challenges of rural living and disabilities head on. Kate and her husband Greg live in Pierre, SD with their daughter Leah and four cats. In her spare time, she enjoys practicing skills learned from the Great British Baking Show.
