Josh Gibson Foundation Presents, Negro Leagues Matter: A Webinar Series Part 3
Speaker: Adam Darowski

Title: Beyond the Negro Leagues: Outsider Baseball Outside the United States
Josh Gibson dominated the Negro Leagues. But he was also a star in Mexico, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, and the Dominican Republic. There were many other players who were stars in Latin America who only briefly played in the Negro Leagues—or didn't play in the Negro Leagues at all. This talk will discuss the great careers of Black and Afro-Latino players outside of the US (focusing on those who only briefly, if at all, played in the Negro Leagues). We'll discuss Quincy Trouppe, Tetelo Vargas, Perucho Cepeda, Buster Clarkson, Pancho Coimbre, Lázaro Salazar, Ramon Bragaña, Silvio García, and more.
