Radical Crafting with Queer Clinicians: Self-care, Healing and Activism
Radical crafting is a form of mindfulness inspired by queering self-care, and it can assist us in becoming fully present. This can, in turn, lead to empowerment for both clinician and client. Through embroidering together in this workshop, we will create a new form of radical queer kinship. Learn a variety of embroidery techniques you can enjoy on your own and also share with your clients. Together we will create a collective space centered on fiber crafting and self-care by using embroidery to engage in a self-reflective exploration of our experiences as clinicians. We will explore the weight we and our clients currently bear in terms of the pandemic, systemic racism, and queer- and transphobia.
