Appropriate radiographic positioning techniques are necessary to achieve diagnostic-quality images in a timely and efficient manner. This lecture will discuss principles and guidelines of radiation safety in the workplace as well as the techniques used to obtain high-quality diagnostic images of the thorax, abdomen, and axial and appendicular skeleton.

-Under Pressure: A guide to Vasopressor Therapy and What's that sound? Understanding Heart Murmurs in Companion Animals, presented by Daniel Shinsako, DVM and Cassandra Kortick, MS, DVM

RACE approved for 1 CE Credit for Veterinary Technicians.

The lecture will cover management of patients both under general anesthesia and post-operatively with persistent hypotension. The physiology and appropriate medication use, dosages, and when to initiate vasopressor therapy will be discussed.
This lecture will also include a brief outline of what to listen for when auscultating patients. The listener will understand the importance of how to use these findings relate to cardiac diseases. After describing the most common cardiac diseases we see in veterinary medicine, the listener will learn about the goals of treatment and how certain therapies are selected for patients.
