Secretary-General WFICC) Prof. Alison Fox-Robichaud, MD (@McMaster University, Critical Care Specialist, Director of Medical Education, Hamilton Health Services, Ontario) Dr Fox-Robichaud is Professor of Medicine at McMaster University and a Critical Care Specialist and Director of Medical Education at Hamilton Health Services in Ontario, Canada. Her research interests include the pathophysiology of sepsis and how evidence is transferred into clinical care. She is the Scientific Director of Sepsis Canada, a nationally funded collaborative of 200 scientists, knowledge users, patients and carers. Dr Fox-Robichaud has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications reflecting a broad engagement in academic medicine. She has been honoured nationally for her work in electronic early warning scores to prevent patient deterioration. Internationally, in 2018 the Global Sepsis Alliance awarded her an individual award for her sepsis leadership. Prof. Shigeki Fujitani, MD (@Emergency and Critical Care Medicine, St. Marianna University Hospital, Kanagawa, Japan. Member of the Council) Shigeki Fujitani is currently a Professor of Emergency Medicine and Critical Care Medicine at St. Marianna University Hospital in Kanagawa, Japan. He has board certificates in general internal medicine and critical care medicine in the USA in addition in Japan. His training background included a residency in General Internal Medicine at the University of Hawaii, the fellowship in critical care medicine at the University of Pittsburgh, and the Infectious Diseases fellowship in UCLA combined program. Following his return to Japan in 2007, Professor Fujitani has championed the introduction of the SCCM sponsored Fundamental Critical Care Support course, Fundamental Disaster Course, and Multi-professional Critical Care Board Review Course into Japan. Additionally, he has advocated the concept of Rapid Response System throughout Japan. Professor Fujitani was elected to the Board of the Japanese Society of Intensive Care Medicine (JSICM) in 2016.
