Putting Together the Pieces of a Fair Energy Transition – Leaving No One Behind -- Tuesday, July 13, 2021, 7-8 PM USET
This program will be a free, live, expert-led, audience-interactive Zoom webinar, held on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 from 7:00 to 8:00 PM USET. The program is one of a series titled: “Putting Together the Pieces of a Fair Energy Transition – Leaving No One Behind.”

The main speaker will be Chris Hansen, PhD, who represents District 31 in the Colorado State Senate. Dr. Hansen is the author of legislation creating the “Colorado Just Transition Action Plan” to assist fossil fuel communities in the transition to a clean energy economy.

The panelists will be Angie Rosser, Executive Director, WV Rivers; Ann Eisenberg, Assistant Professor, University of South Carolina School of Law; and Evan Hansen, President, Downstream Strategies and Member, West Virginia House of Delegates.

Chris Hansen, PhD
Chair, Appropriations Committee @Colorado State Senate
Dr. Hansen holds a BSc in Nuclear Engineering from Kansas State University; a Graduate Diploma of Civil Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa; a Master of Science in Engineering Systems from MIT; and a PhD in Economic Geography from Oxford University. He represents Senate District 31 in the Colorado State Senate, where he currently serves on the Joint Budget Committee, as well as Chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee. Dr. Hansen was previously Senior Director at IHS Markit, where he led a global portfolio of energy products, and partnerships. Hansen also serves as Chairman of the Board of Western Freedom, a non-profit dedicated to the integration of the power system and RTO in the West. He is the Co-Founder and Director at the Colorado Energy & Water Institute, and Founder of the Colorado Science and Engineering Policy Fellowship.
