Prior to joining Bluum, she was an educator for almost 20 years teaching English Language Learners then Technology Integration. In addition to the K-12 classroom, she was an adjunct instructor at the University of Minnesota for 5 years working with aspiring educators. She is passionate about building student engagement and fostering creativity through STEM – some of her favorites in the classroom were Wonder Workshop’s Dash robot, Google Workspace for Education and virtual reality. Academy School District 20 Colorado (Panel of Educators ) ASD 20 has adopted AR/VR into their schools. A panel of educators from the district is here to share their experience with why they chose to bring AR/VR into the classroom, what spaces they integrated the technology in, and how they use it to enhance curriculum. Nicky Acevedo (Senior Professional Development Specialist @Bluum) Nicky is a part of the Bluum professional development team as a Senior Instructional Specialist and Coach. As a former 9th and 10th grade teacher, Nicky uses her experience in the classroom and her knowledge as a Google Certified Trainer to share with educators how they can best use technology to truly impact student learning outcomes.
