Peter Beinart’s recent op-ed in the New York Times and longer essay in Jewish Currents have reinvigorated the two states/one state debate. But is it possible that the best answer for Israel and Palestine is not to be found through either of these models, but via confederation, a third-way solution that seeks to incorporate the advantages and overcome the drawbacks of each of the other two approaches?
Joining us to discuss the confederation solution, and the idea of co-nationalism that underlies it, will be Limor Yehuda and Ameer Fakhoury, central figures in the A Land for All movement in Israel and Palestine. Moderating this discussion will be Khaled Elgindy, who serves as the director of the Program on Palestine and Palestinian-Israeli Affairs at the Middle East Institute (MEI).
The conversation will be followed by a Q&A with the Zoom audience.
