Webinar Speakers

Dr. Peter Ellis 
Dr. Ellis is a Professor in the Departments of Oncology and an associate member of Health Research Methods, Evidence and Impact at McMaster University. He is also Division Head of Medical Oncology at the Juravinski Cancer Centre (JCC). He obtained his medical degree at the University of Sydney. He completed a Masters of Medicine (Clinical Epidemiology) and a PhD also at the University of Sydney. Dr. Ellis moved to Canada in October, 2000. He is an Executive Member of the Canadian Cancer Trials Group (CCTG) Lung Disease Site Committee, and is Co-Chair of Cancer Care Ontario’s Practice Guideline Initiative, Provincial Lung Disease Site Group. He is also an investigator on several CCTG and pharmaceutical industry-sponsored multicentre phase III clinical trials in breast and lung cancer.

Chair: Dr. Stephanie Snow 
Dr. Snow has been a staff Medical Oncologist at the QEII hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia since 2010 and is currently an Associate Professor at in the Faculty of Medicine at Dalhousie.  After pursuing undergraduate training at McGill, she completed her MD, Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology training at Dalhousie.  She treats head and neck, thoracic and GI malignancies. 
 
Academically, she has a strong interest in Medical Education, overseeing the Dalhousie Undergraduate Medical Oncology program and is a member of the Royal College Medical Oncology Examination Board.  She also has a keen interest in patient advocacy serving as the Vice President of Lung Cancer Canada, a member of the executive committee of the Canadian Gastric Cancer Association and as a medical advisor to My Gut Feeling – Stomach Cancer Foundation of Canada, which is the Canadian gastric cancer patient support network.
