Keep an eye on the data for the eye of the storm

Description

When a hurricane hits, it can be difficult to find detailed information quickly about that storm. What were the maximum wind gusts at a particular site? Where did storm surges have the biggest impact? Does the hurricane track or wind swath from one storm overlap with a previous storm? How can I access the Local Climatological Data summary for a particular storm? Having the ability to access and visualize this data can be extremely helpful when working on insurance claims or preparing for litigation. To address this, Haag Technical Services has created an interactive web mapping portal on the Haag Geoportal that allows users to view hurricane-related data that is relevant to their specific project needs. Please join us for an overview of the hurricane portal and how it can help you keep an eye on the data!

Deffenbaugh (Manager--GIS Services @Haag Technical Services) Ms. Deffenbaugh is the Manager of GIS Services for Haag Technical Services, a division of Haag Global, Inc. In this role, Ms. Deffenbaugh oversees initiatives related to GIS planning, system design, and system administration. She also manages a staff of GIS technicians, analysts, cartographers, and project administrative assistants who provide data validation and project management services for oil and gas clients. As the primary liaison between the client management teams and Haag Technical Services personnel, Ms. Deffenbaugh provides technical consulting services on a regular basis.
