Andy Cofas
Plant Manager Rawhide Energy Station - CUG Board Member @Platte River Power Authority
Andrew J. Cofas is the Plant Manager at Rawhide Energy Station, where he manages the day-to-day generation operations for Platte River Power Authority based in Fort Collins, Colo. Andrew has over 30 years of experience in power generation, beginning his career with Combustion Engineering as a Technical Services Engineer. Prior to working at PRPA, he was the Alliance Manager for Luminant Power in Dallas, Texas where he managed major contracts and outage management. He was also the Maintenance Manager for Tucson Electric Power. Andrew lives with his wife Denise and they have two adult children. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University and an M.S. in Industrial Management and Systems Engineering from the University of Nebraska.
Rod Hatt

Rod Hatt owns and operates Coal Combustion, Inc. CCI teaches about the chemistry of burning coal or how the type of coal you burn impacts plant operation and maintenance and of course cost. We help you understand the nature of coal, and what options you might have in adjusting the combustion process. Rod started as a Results and Combustion Engineer at NIPSCo, a large US utility, after six years he moved to Island Creek Coal Sales as the Director of Technical Service. He worked six years running test burns and assisting utilities change their coal specs so Island Creek could sell to them. The SGS coal lab company in the US was called Commercial Testing & Engineering Co. Mr. Hatt worked for seven years as Director of Marketing and head of Fuel Utilization Services. Rod started offering the Coal Quality and Combustion Class in the early 1990’s at CT&E (SGS). In 2003 Mr. Hatt formed Coal Combustion, Inc. and now offers his classes and consulting services world wide. CCI offers
