Human Rights Act - Upskilling Session for people, family members/loved ones, carers, self-advocates and community groups
On 13th January 2021, following the Conservative party’s manifesto commitment to update the Human Rights Act, the Government’s Independent Review Panel published its consultation questions. This Review is looking at how the Human Rights Act (HRA) is working in practice and whether any change is needed.
Join this session led by the British Institute of Human Rights for people, families, carers, self- advocates and community groups if you'd like to upskill yourself on our Human Rights Act. The session will cover how the Human Rights Act works for people in everyday interactions with public services and bodies, to help you respond to the Review.
During the session you can also share your experiences with BIHR which will help shape our response to the Review, protecting our human rights here at home.
This Upskilling Session is co-badged with Article 12, POhWER, Learning Disability England and All Wales People First!
