The evidence from China, Europe, and the United States shows that people with diabetes are at very high risk of serious complications and death from COVID-19. To reduce these risks, it is important for the diabetes community to develop an international consensus to identify strategies to protect diabetes patients. In preparation for a potential second wave, the Virtual International COVID-19 and Diabetes Summit will discuss risk reduction by harnessing the potential of digital health, telemedicine, sensors, and pharmacology. Join Diabetes Technology Society as we feature frontline clinicians, scientists, engineers, and social scientists to address the question: How can we protect patients with diabetes from COVID-19?
SUBMIT YOUR COVID-19 AND DIABETES ABSTRACTS BY AUGUST 31 FOR E-POSTER PRESENTATION AT THE VIRTUAL DIABETES TECHNOLOGY MEETING, NOVEMBER 12-14, 2020
We are pleased to announce a call for abstracts for e-poster presentations on the topic of COVID-19 and Diabetes -- to include original research, health care delivery, and case reports/case series. Because of the importance of dissemination of peer-reviewed information about COVID-19 and diabetes, we will review these abstracts quickly by a special COVID-19 research review team and then post selected topics online in October, in advance of the meeting. In this way, we hope to accelerate high quality clinical and research information that can be utilized and referenced (grants/publications) to further the understanding of this disease.
At the Diabetes Technology Meeting in November, we will cover COVID-19 in a timely way based on the latest news and ideas emerging from the upcoming Virtual International COVID-19 and Diabetes Summit on August 26-27, 2020.
Please visit https://www.diabetestechnology.org/dtm/call-for-abstracts.shtml for more information on submitting an abstract.
