Carmen Avink
CPA, Senior Tax Associate @BKD CPAs & Advisors
Carmen assists with providing tax preparation and planning services to clients. She has worked with individuals, partnerships, S corporations and C corporations. Starting in 2018, she has focused particularly on the tax reporting requirements for not-for-profit organizations, including the complex executive compensation rules, private foundation distribution requirements, and unrelated business income considerations. She was heavily involved in educating not-for-profits with the effects of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act passed at the end of 2017, as well as guiding them into compliance. Carmen is currently helping clients understand and navigate legislation and guidance related to COVID-19, including the implications of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act and the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) She is a 2016 graduate of University of Colorado, Colorado Springs with a B.S. degree in business and a minor in mathematics.

Corinna is a Managing Director in the New York City office of BKD, where she is leading the launch of the Advisory Services practice. She brings over 20 years of experience as a finance executive, where she has provided interim- and outsourced-CFO services to a wide range of organizations. Corinna is currently leading the NY office COVID-19 Task Force where she is analyzing the extensive and fluid flow of information and legislation related to COVID-19 and clients understand and navigate the implications of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act and the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act)
