Tim Hard

Tim has been involved in metal markets for over a decade and is SVP for the metals division of Argus in Asia, driving index uptake. Most recently, Tim was Managing Director for the TSI price specialist team at S&P Platts, leading the indices in steel, scrap, coking coal and iron ore. Tim has previously worked as a strategy consultant at CRU to the mining and metals sector and has founded and run a UK-based technology company. He holds an MBA from Aston Business School.
Alex Kershaw
Steel Analyst @Fastmarkets
Alex is an analyst in the Fastmarkets research team, covering the long steel and ferrous scrap sectors. Prior to joining Fastmarkets, he covered the sulphuric acid market at another price reporting agency. He holds an MSc in International Relations from University College London, where he researched transnational hydrocarbon companies changing relationships with governments in developing states. Moreover, he also holds a BA from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada.
Miriam Falk
Senior Commodity Analyst @Fastmarkets
Miriam has nearly a decade of experience as a commodity analyst and previously worked at S&P Global Platts before joining Fastmarkets research team. She first specialised in analysing supply and demand in the European power market, and later moved on to bulk steel raw materials, where she was responsible for the buildout of an analytical model of steel mill margins. Miriam is a commentator in the media and at industry events, and has been quoted in the Financial Times, among others. She began her career as a policy intern at the Swedish Delegation to the OECD in Paris and later also worked at the Global Policy Forum in New York. Miriam completed a master's degree at Uppsala University in Sweden, with a major in political science and a minor in economics. She also speaks Swedish and French fluently.
