In a national survey conducted by Paychex of a broad cross section of industries, business leaders identified their top challenge in managing people as “employees have personal issues that sometimes conflict with work.”
Other top challenges include assessing employee morale and well-being, maintaining good communication, keeping the team motivated, monitoring productivity and providing technology that staff members need to stay productive. Certainly, the seniors housing industry is no stranger to workforce challenges on the frontline, an obstacle that’s been exacerbated by COVID-19.
Employers surveyed in the study, which was conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic, also struggled with:
-Keeping and retaining top performers
-Giving employees training, coaching and the support they need to perform effectively.
