Online Sample Fraud: Causes, Costs & Cures
This month’s Town Hall will focus on online sample quality, and specifically fraud, a persistent concern since research moved online. A recent collaboration involving four of the most prominent fraud detection firms, along with CASE (the Coalition for Advancing Sampling Research), The Insights Association, Advertising Research Foundation, and industry thought leaders conducted a ground-breaking study in 2021 on the effectiveness of current fraud prevention technologies to detect and remove fraud in online research. This analysis led to eye-opening findings regarding the sampling landscape, how effective the technologies are in identifying potential sample fraud, and pinpointed some troubling sample trends that require further industry investigation and exploration in order to understand their impact on the quality of today's insights.
