Christopher Schirwitz
Technical Marketing Manager E&E @Covestro
Christopher holds a diploma in Chemistry from the University of Marburg and a PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of Heidelberg. Throughout his academic research, he specialized in Polymer Chemistry, Surface Chemistry, and Surface Analytics. At Covestro, Christopher started his career as a head of laboratory and project manager in the polycarbonates business. Since then, Christopher held positions as venture manager in the area of thermoplastic polyurethanes and as market developer for battery packaging materials. Today, he is responsible for technical marketing and key account management in the Electronics and Electrical industry at Covestro Engineering Plastics.
Jim Lorenzo
Application Principal Engineer @Covestro
Jim Lorenzo is a member of the Application Development Group in the Americas region primarily focused on Mobility and Electrical & Electronics industries within the Polycarbonates segment at Covestro. He joined Covestro in 2000. Jim has over 25 years of experience in plastic part design and injection molded applications. Jim brings a strong background in computer-aided simulation to enhance structural and thermal product designs in advanced areas such as automotive forward lighting, commercial lighting, and battery cooling technologies. He has an in-depth knowledge of polycarbonates, thermally conductive resins and composites. Jim studied mechanical engineering in the US, and completed his Master’s degree at Bucknell University.
